#whycoexist 2024 Competition!

Our once-in-a-lifetime #whycoexist competition has returned.
Win an 8-day, all-expenses expedition, to the Seychelles for you and a friend.

Will you be our next winner?

The Prize

This 8-day, all-expenses expedition, includes:
Accommodation, food, expenses and travel!
Guided tours of the islands by leading scientists
PADI Open water dive course
Snorkelling along coral reefs with turtles and manta rays.
Surfing, cycling, camping on a remote beach, stand-up paddle boarding and canoeing.

Our #whycoexist competition is open to divers of all abilities. If you've never dived before, you'll do your Open Water course with our PADI instructors. But, if you're already an advanced diver, we wanted to let you know what you can expect during your stay!

You'll be diving with some of the most experienced divers in the world! They are not just instructors and guides, they are leading scientists and ocean explorers.

Seychelles waters are 70% protected, making them very balanced and looking almost how natural reefs and life should be. The reefs and biomes are also simply unique to the Seychelles. It's a common misconception that all tropical paradises look the same when, in fact, all of them are different and have their own endemic species.

Some of the diving you'll experience during the trip...

  1. Drift through the canyon that runs across the north of the island where you can see a variety of different coral and fish species.
  2. Explore the caves along the fringe of the atoll and see the life that takes shelter in them; swimming among a multitude of fish on the coral reef walls.
  3. We'll head offshore to the pelagic transponder sites. Each site is extremely different from the next, with varying coral biomes and a chance to see larger pelagic life such as whales, dolphins and sharks.
  4. Discover new dive sites and the secrets they hold with our resident divers and explore the nearby Amirante's islands.

The location is simply stunning and a unique opportunity to dive in a near-pristine tropical paradise.

How to Enter

To win this truly once-in-a-lifetime prize for you and a friend, we want you to create a 60 second video on why we should co-exist with our oceans.

Our last competition saw a range of different submissions from simple vlogs, poetry, paintings, animations and professional style videos.

You don't need to be an environmental scientist, marine biologist or conservation expert, however, and don't worry about the production quality of your video, either.

What we are looking for is a genuine, heartfelt passion for our oceans and for you to tell us why we should co-exist!

Submitting Your Entry

Upload your video to Instagram or YouTube and use the hashtag #whycoexist in the description of your post. Using this hashtag will be picked up by our system but please message or email us so we can check we've received it.

All submissions are approved manually before they appear in the gallery, so may not show immediately. Please ensure your account is set to public if uploading your entry to Instagram.

You'll need to follow us on our social media @coexistprojects for competition updates and announcements.

If you have any questions, or need to submit your video manually, please email social@coexistprojects.com and our team will be happy to help.

Our previous winner, Emma.
